Up to Wednesday

Lately I've been...

LOVING the Fall colors. I'm not sure why but the trees in Louisiana are not as pretty in the Fall. Everywhere you look here the trees are bright beautiful red, orange and yellow. On the way to soccer practice I kept saying to Noah, "Look how pretty the trees are! I wish I had my camera!"

Although I like watching the leaves turn, I don't want them to fall in my yard. We have a lot of trees. Trees have lots of leaves. I do not like raking...

Looking at my new iPhone 4S but not using it. When we got our new phones they gave us Louisiana area codes. We wanted Illinois area codes because duh we live in Illinois. We assumed that since we were getting the phones in IL we would be issued IL area codes. Wrong. AND they won't change the number for 30 days. I'm not going to go through the trouble of giving everyone my new number only to turn around in a few weeks and  give them another number.

Finally getting my Bailey sign on the wall. We still need to hide the cords! I'm going shopping this week to find more stuff for the mantle...even though it'll be taken down soon to make room for Fall stuff.

Looking at this. It is part of my front yard. I see it and think about weeding it. I just think about it. I don't actually go do it. The truth is I know NOTHING about plants. I'm not sure what is a plant and what is a weed. Luckily Joey's Grandma is coming to see us this weekend. She knows everything about plants. I'm sure she can show me how it's done. ;)

Hoping Joey's Grandma can tell me what this is. It is a bush in front of my porch. It started growing red berries (probably of the poisonous variety) and it's just so pretty.

Enjoying Noah's school work. Every night I go through his folder and often laugh. He is always drawing silly things on his work or writing funny things. I made sure that he was completing the work before he added all the funny drawings and words. I also checked with his teacher to make sure she was ok with him decorating his pages. She said he usually finishes and then starts doodling and as long as he does the work first she's fine with it. Which is nice because I like    seeing his Star Wars and robots fighting along side his math problems.

Slowly decorating for Fall.

Playing find the socks. Noah's socks have been disappearing. He assures me that he always put them in the laundry hamper so there must be another explanation as to why I find them everywhere but the laundry hamper. Someone or something has been stashing them under the computer desk, in the couch, under the bed, in the sheets...

Making these amazing monte cristo sandwiches. I used this recipe.
They were just so yummy!

Starting to conquer this mess. These are recipes. I bought that composition notebook when I first got married and began jotting down recipes in it. Over the years it has become filled with delicious dishes as well as lots of pages torn out of magazines, print outs from the internet, recipe cards from friends. It's a mess and it's impossible to find what I'm looking for. The goal is to type everything up, print the recipes out, slip them in to plastic sleeves, and then place them in a cute decorated binder. It is going to be a LONG process.

This morning I took Bella on a fun walk. I found
out you can walk your dogs in the nature preserve next to
Noah's school. I didn't go to far in because I did not grab a map on my
way in and there were so many trails I was afraid we might get lost.
Now she's napping, I'm drinking my tea, and it looks like rain.
Today will be a day to relax.

Happy Wednesday!

  1. Bahahaha I love that he draws on his homework. That's so quirky. I also love Fall, but hate raking! We have soooo many trees and although I love playing outside with my puppies and watching them chasing the leaves around, the actual CLEANING part is soooo unnecessary. Ha :)

  2. Your house looks so cute (from the little I've seen)
And we still have our Savannah area codes even after we moved and I'm pretty sure we'll keep them after we move again. I hate changing phone numbers.
